“Allegiant’s continued growth at Myrtle Beach International Airport is fantastic news for the residents of the Grand Strand, and those wanting to vacation in our great destination,” said Pat Apone, director of airports for Horry County Department of Airports. “The Department of Airports staff works hard to make the Myrtle Beach International Airport an attractive airport for airlines, making it a logical choice to increase service offerings and add new markets. We look forward to Allegiant returning for another great season in Myrtle Beach.”
“Having five more new markets with non-stop air service to the Myrtle Beach area ensures that even more first-time visitors have easy access to our 60 miles of beautiful beaches and southern hospitality during the summer,” stated Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “We‘re excited that Allegiant will be able to bring more families to the area to enjoy our wealth of exciting activities and entertainment beyond the beach. Our on-going partnership with Allegiant Air remains strong, and we are pleased to see them expand with more non-stop flights to and from the Myrtle Beach area. Our visitors and residents will certainly benefit from additional affordable air service.”
“Allegiant Air’s expansion of service is great for the entire Myrtle Beach market and it speaks to the strength of the destination,” Bill Golden, Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday’s president, said. “Increased air service is vital to the growth our market, so the success Allegiant enjoyed in 2014 and its decision to expand the number of nonstop flights into Myrtle Beach this year is great news.”
